Springtime cards

Occasions

Spring has so many associations, that's why there are so many different cards. It's almost too much to mention. The cards are suitable for many situations: Birthdays, marriages, anniversaries, other congratulations, greetings, and/or encouragement. The four-leaf clover picture made by Gerry Hurkmans for example suits perfectly for wishing success.

These cards are perfect for children, the elderly, young people, and adults. Because who isn't happy with a spring card?

Even in bad times in life, these cards can be appropriate because they can cheer you up or give you some kind of support. It is really worth it to take a look at this selection of Art Unlimited!

Traditional

Spring always follows after winter and that never has been different in eternity. So there are also paintings of spring from older times. Vincent van Gogh, the versatile painter, has made some that are certainly worth a look at. The paintings are so varied, even though they are made by the same painter and about the same theme.

Flowers

Flowers are the main theme of spring, especially the Dutch tulips.

Simplicity can be very beautiful, as the painting of the blossoms proves. It shows pink blossoms on branches against the bright blue sky. So basic, so complete, and completely revolves around spring. Another painting by this painter also depicts a flowering tree on green grass against the blue sky. The tree has the most beautiful colors! Another colorful painting by this painter represents an old Dutch flower bed field with houses in the background.

A picture of more modern times, but just as classic and just as colorful, is made by Jaap Hart. He made a picture of a tulip field in various colors with a mill in the background. The appropriate title is: 'Spring in Holland'. A similar record belongs to another artist, Igno Cuypers, who took a beautiful picture of red tulips with a mill in the background. Cuypers took several pictures of tulips, like the one with yellow and Red tulips, also with a mill in the backgrounds. Another picture shows Tulips in the sunshine in Amsterdam with the tower bridge in the background.

Jan Cremer can’t be absent from this list with a painting called ‘tulip land’. The colors dominate in this card, not only because of the flowers but also because of the rainbow in the background. Another tulip card shows a field in various colors and is made by Ricardo Murad. These are all perfectly suitable cards to send to friends inland, but also to abroad. The cards represent characteristics of the Dutch identity and the Dutch spring.

Another classic picture is made by Cornelis Jetses. It shows people working in a field.

Animals

Apart from flowers, animals are very present in this happy season. A card from ancient times of C. Nozeman shows a stork, including an egg. It’s a suitable picture of this season and also suitable to congratulate someone on a birth. Very cheerful is a picture of Hans Nieuwenhuis with two lambs on a green background and a lamb that hops. Another card with lambs is made in black and white with a sheep and a lamb on opposite sides. This card is made by Guhr Weiser.

Totally different is a close up picture of a bull. You can hardly see the green grass and the blue sky behind it. The drawn card of Wim van der Burgh is more endearing with a mother duck and cute day-old chicks.

There are also pictures of older chicks, like the one that shows a white duck with a whole row of chicks behind him. It’s made by Mike Hollist. Another picture, made by Hans Nieuwenhuis, of a duck chicken is entitled  'Discover the world’.

A black-and-white drawing by Siegfried Woldhek also shows a sweet scene: two birds on a stick leaning against each other. Or we have a simple picture made by Carsten Medom Madsen depicting a resting Lamb.

There's so much in this collection: it's almost too much to mention. Last but not least and worth mentioning are these ones: a card with a box of eggs with a chicken feather on it, or a tulip with kissing lips, and a love-couple with an old car.
