About the optimal representation of a postcard-sized artwork

Postcard format reproductions are as complete as possible. As a result, the Art Unlimited postcard is almost always provided with a white border that cannot always be the same width on all four sides. For the time being, the artist has chosen to make his work - in most cases - not in the proportion of a postcard, so the white borders vary in width, because they complement the postcard border. This is based on the fact that respect for the artwork precedes the production of the reproduction within the medium of postcard. Art Unlimited also shows cards where the white border is missing. This is caused by those reproductions of works where detail is concerned, so it makes no sense to suggest that the artist strived for a certain proportion here. The detail is always stated on the back (verso) of the text justification - in the so-called caption. It is hard to imagine that many museum shops have forgotten that the visitor first and foremost wants to regain this respect. A very conspicuous demonstration of this worrying view on the reproduction of works of art can be found in the shop attached to the Rijksmuseum here in Amsterdam. Where they found a new way of cropping the works by Rembrandt, Vermeer etc.. Good looking postcards, but worthless to any intrinsic motivated visitor.

Will you be able to find this vision at Art Unlimited?

Convince yourself by experiencing this, because on this side there is no doubt about this view.

This is Art Unlimited's mission:

Keep art accessible and give it - permanently - the opportunity to surprise you and your friends and keep it fresh.

Art Unlimited's target group can best be summarized by the following sentence:

"Anyone who dares to look around with an interested look." The employees of Art Unlimited - and certainly also the artists - invite you.

Here is some practical information in place:

• The price: it is low, the quality high, but the delivery is slow (exceptions to the delivery time are only on explicit request and on different conditions). • Shipping costs are also low. Art Unlimited does not differentiate between visitors from "around the corner" or Kamchatka and Alaska. • Easy to find: At the top right you can enter any word or parts thereof, but also combinations thereof, and thus be surprised by the search results. • When searching, always pay attention to whether you have accidentally "maneuvered" out of the product group of your choice. Always make sure you stay within that group, you will find it in the left part of the search box. When you search, you must select the correct product group.

Art cards and shipping times

As a publisher of postcards and greeting cards, Art Unlimited does not forget that its audience wants to use those cards to share with friends by sending the cards, among other things. Good reasons for this are formed every year at the so-called - not always recurring - sending moments: Birth, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Success, Birthday, Name Day, Holiday, Driver's License, Trip, Visit, Farewell, Commemoration, Sinterklaas, Christmas, New Year, Valentine's Day, Invitation , Condoléances just like that etc .. However, in almost all cases, art cards rely on the sender's imagination and your inventiveness. Art Unlimited has attempted to provide suggestions for this by linking the sending time for some images. An obvious part of this process is associative thinking that wants to be kept alive by this. One of the most difficult examples is Rembrandt's Night Watch, mentioned earlier. Which shipping destination will you best be able to link it to? Dress up party? Dinner? Haircut? In any case, communicate your pleasure and your ability to put things into perspective. Art Unlimited is the right place for art cards and other gifts!
